Qinghai Hoh Xil National Nature Reserve (Kekexili) is one of China’s most remote high-plateau landscapes—a vast region of cold steppe, lakes, mountains, and open horizons on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.
The reserve is globally significant for Tibetan antelope and other plateau wildlife, including wild yak, Tibetan gazelle, wolves, foxes, raptors, and highland scavengers. It is a landscape where wildlife is shaped by distance, altitude, and exposure.
