Journey Itinerary
Day 2
Chengdu Panda Base and Transfer to Leshan
Start early at Chengdu Panda Base, when giant pandas are usually more active. Spend the morning observing pandas of different ages and learning how the base supports breeding, research, and public education. After the visit, continue to Leshan and slow the pace with a gentle tea plantation walk.
Day 3
Leshan Giant Buddha and Transfer to Bifengxia
Visit the Leshan Giant Buddha, one of Sichuan’s most iconic cultural landmarks, set where three rivers meet beneath forested cliffs. After exploring the Buddha area, drive toward Ya’an and Bifengxia, a quieter mountain setting that brings the journey closer to Sichuan’s panda habitat.
Day 4
Bifengxia Panda Base, Bifengxia Gorge and Dujiangyan
Spend the morning at Bifengxia Panda Base, where pandas live in a greener and more naturalistic environment than many urban facilities. Continue with an easy hike through Bifengxia Gorge, enjoying forest paths, fresh air, and mountain scenery before driving on to Dujiangyan.
Day 5
Wolong Panda Base and Dujiangyan Panda Valley
Travel into the mountain landscapes of Wolong, an area closely associated with the natural habitat of the giant panda. Visit Wolong Panda Base for panda viewing against a misty forest backdrop, then return toward Dujiangyan to explore Panda Valley, a field research center designed around bamboo, streams, and semi-wild surroundings.
Day 6
Dujiangyan Panda Volunteer Program and Return to Chengdu
Take part in the Dujiangyan Panda Volunteer Program for a deeper look at the daily care behind panda conservation. Activities may include cleaning enclosures, preparing bamboo, assisting with feeding under staff guidance, and receiving a volunteer certificate. Later, visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation System before returning to Chengdu.
Day 7
Depart from Chengdu
Enjoy a calm final morning before your guide and driver escort you to the airport for departure.
