Jiang Zhu

Jiang is a Senior Naturalist and Birding Guide based in Guangzhou, with extensive experience exploring China’s diverse ecosystems and sharing the wonders of nature with travelers from around the world. A lifelong naturalist and passionate birder, he has observed more than 4,000 bird species across multiple continents and has extensive guiding experience throughout China, particularly in the biodiversity-rich southern regions.

Beyond birds, Jiang has developed deep expertise in entomology, specializing in Coleoptera (weevils) and Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths) in South China. He works at the State Environmental Protection Key Laboratory of Urban Ecological Simulation and Protection at the South China Institute of Environmental Sciences and also serves as Deputy Editor of The Indochina Entomologist.

Jiang’s interests extend across amphibians, reptiles, mammals, and broader natural history. His scientific knowledge and communication skills have also led him to contribute to wildlife documentaries as a science advisor, scriptwriter, and producer.

With his broad field experience, scientific background, and enthusiasm for nature interpretation, Jiang brings a unique perspective to every birding tour and nature exploration, helping guests discover the remarkable diversity of China’s wildlife.
