Bing He

Bing He is a Snow Leopard Conservation Specialist with extensive experience in wildlife research and conservation across southern China and the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau. For more than a decade, he has dedicated his work to understanding and protecting alpine ecosystems, with a particular focus on snow leopards and other high-altitude wildlife.

Bing spent several years working with the Shan Shui Conservation Center, one of China’s leading environmental NGOs, where he contributed to snow leopard surveys, habitat conservation, and community-based wildlife protection projects. He has participated in field research alongside renowned zoologist and naturalist Dr. George Schaller and leading Chinese snow leopard researchers, gaining valuable experience in studying elusive mountain predators.

Beyond wildlife monitoring, Bing has worked closely with local communities to develop conservation programs, training herders, farmers, and monks to participate in wildlife monitoring and camera-trap surveys. He has also explored practical solutions to reduce human–wildlife conflict and promote coexistence between large carnivores and local communities.

Today, Bing continues his conservation work on the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau as an independent researcher, combining scientific knowledge, field experience, and community engagement to support the long-term protection of China’s alpine wildlife.
