Jindong Zhang

Dr. Jindong Zhang is a Giant Panda Conservation Scientist specializing in the ecology, behavior, and conservation of wild giant pandas. He earned his PhD in Ecology from the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES), Chinese Academy of Sciences, where his research focused on the activity patterns and habitat use of wild giant pandas in Wolong Nature Reserve.

With extensive experience in panda ecology and conservation, Dr. Zhang has investigated how natural and human disturbances influence giant panda habitats. His research on the impact of livestock activities on panda habitat revealed important insights into the challenges facing wild panda populations and contributed to conservation strategies aimed at protecting critical habitats.
